Understanding Results: The Executable Attributes Tab

The Executable attributes tab displays the executable attributes found in the analysis, their severities and attribute types. Executable attributes indicate missing exploit protection in code, making exploitation of possible vulnerabilities easier. More information on executable attributes can be found in the Missing Exploit Mitigation Techniques chapter.

Filter: The attributes can be filtered by severity, type or by discovered certificate chain. The filters are OR type and each selection adds to displayed results.

Attribute severities

Attribute severities shows the attributes color-coded for severity.

Attribute types

Attribute types lists the attributes by severity, type and count.

Components including executable attributes are listed below the Attribute severities and Attribute types. Clicking on the component name opens the list of Missing exploit mitigations and Certificate chains.

Certificate chains

Certificate chains enable the receiver to verify that the sender and all intermediate certificates are trustworthy. BDBA uses Code Signing certificates to verify certificate chains.
